Hopefully I'm just being too pessimistic. Rating: R (Language) Genre: Sci-fi, Mystery & thriller. The Fits ( Reviews) is just too small a film, while both The President ( Reviews) and The Wailing ( Reviews) are foreign-language films. An American astronaut (Mark Strong) tests his will, sanity and endurance while embarking on a one-way, solo mission to Mars. Unfortunately, none of them look like they have what it takes to be a break out hit in limited release. There are several films on this week's list that are earning unanimously positive reviews, or very close to it. I'm going to have to take a break to recover from that pun in the title.

Limited and VOD Releases: Will The Wailing be the Moby Dick of Limited Releases? Approaching the Unknown comes from first time writer and director Mark Elijah Rosenberg, the winner of 2014's Sundance Institute-NHK award. The honor is intended to help and support international. The Martian: Extended Edition is also a must have, if you don't own it yet. It isn't the only contender for Pick of the Week this week, as Anomalisa, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan: Director's Cut, and others are also worth considering. The list of new home market releases isn't particularly long, but it includes Zootopia the best movie of the year, so it feels like an amazing week. Tiderock Media, 3311 Productions, Department of Motion Pictures, Loveless, Hinkson Entertainment Space Program, Set in Outer Space, Isolation Horror, Cabin Fever Stanaforth (Mark Strong) is on a one-way solo mission, taking humanity's first steps toward colonizing Mars.
